Nicki’s yoga class caters for men and women of all ages and all abilities from complete beginner and those with limitations in physical movement to more experienced students.

Each person works at their own level according to their current needs without force or strain in a friendly, relaxed and supportive environment.

Yoga has been proven to release physical and mental tension, reduce pain, improve stamina and flexibility and promote a sense of calm, clarity and wellbeing through the practice of moving towards postures, breathing, relaxation and meditation.

‘Ballroom & Latin Dancing’ Thursday evening at 19.45 – 20.45pm. Beginners & Improvers. 

6 week Beginners Courses available.

Both classes held at Lydiard Millicent Parish Hall.

1st Purton & Lydiard Cubs

We as the 1st Purton & Lydiard Scouts and run a Beaver colony, Cub pack and Scout troop in Purton & Lydiard Millicent. We are part of the Swindon North District.

Our Cub section meet every week on Friday nights during term time at Lydiard Millicent Village Hall.

We are also at the Millennium Hall in Purton (Scouts) or Lydiard Millicent Primary School (Beavers). Each section has around 20 actively involved members.

Light Lunch Break

Every month we hold a community event where everyone is welcome to come for a light lunch.

No charge, but you may make a donation on the day if you wish. Booking is required to cater for numbers so call Mary Turner on 07779 580893.

Everyone welcome Mondays 2-4pm for a pot of tea/coffee and delicious home made cakes and scones – no charge just a voluntary donation if you can.

Treasurer Required

What the role involves: 

One of the key roles on any committee you will be responsible for: 

  • Sending monthly invoices and returning Damage Deposits after bookings.
  • Keeping an ongoing record of all income/expenditure using our Monthly Account Software and ensuring all expenses and invoices are paid on time. 
  • Administering the group’s bank account, including banking any cash or cheques. 
  • Submitting accounts to bi-monthly committee meeting
  • Holding all relevant finance paperwork and records 
  • Ensuring the group complies with the financial guidelines as set out in the Charity documents. 
  • Preparing a financial summary for the Annual General Meeting. 

You will need: 

  • Good numerical skills and experience of working with numbers. 
  • Ability to maintain clear and accurate financial records.
  • Be willing to work in line with financial guidelines, policies and charity commission’s requirements.

Secretary Required

What the role involves

  • Plan, prepare and arrange the bi-monthly committee meetings and AGM, liaising with chair and others as appropriate (minute taking and distribution etc).
  • Ensure that charity law, and regulatory requirements of reporting and public accountability are complied with. 
  • Ensure that all meetings comply with the requirements of the governing document.
  • Hold and maintain governing documentation and be the holder of statutory registers, books, and legal documents such as insurance policies. 
  • Supporting the trustees in fulfilling their duties and responsibilities, organising trustee induction and ongoing training.

You will need:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Good record keeping, information retrieval skills. 
  • To have a positive and ‘can-do’ attitude and enjoy working as a team
  • Ability to write agendas and concise minutes.
  • Ability to organize time and work to deadlines. 
  • A willingness to learn and administer Charity regulations.
